John Barrington, M.D. Changes Lives with MOVE MISSIONS!
MOVE MISSIONS is a dedicated team of orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub techs, surgical nurses, and sales representatives that have come together to donate their time and travel to foreign countries to provide hip and knee replacement surgeries for people who would otherwise never have the opportunity. They also teach local medical personnel new skills which allow them to give even better care after our medical teams have returned home.
They are continually raising donations to pay for surgical equipment and supplies. The staff pays for their own travel expenses and they volunteer their time.
Their mission is to complete as many surgeries as time and money will allow in rural poor areas overseas

Dear Grants and Donations, and friends,
I just wanted to drop you a note of gratitude, on behalf of a young woman whose life was changed this week. She gave full permission to, in fact asked that I, share her story with you. Francia’s mother related to me that her daughter had a normal childhood, until about the age of 7, when she started limping and stumbling. She was told that not much could be done to help her suffering child, and Francia’s condition worsened. She couldn’t play normally, couldn’t even tie her shoes or walk without pain, and as her hip arthritis secondary to Perthes’ disease set in, so too did her mother’s guilt over not being able to help her child. As an aide, when my children are hurting, I ache for them. But I am so impatient–when awaiting crucial results, it seems like an eternity for me to wait 20 minutes. This pair waited…20 years. Francia’s mother told me her one prayer, while on this earth, was to ease her daughter’s pain. Well yesterday, Francia received her new Biomet left hip!
