Patient Care Coordinator

The Patient Care Coordinator department encompasses the initial process of the patient services by scheduling their first appointment, welcoming the patient upon arrival at our clinic and the last voice they will take with them as they check out to leave clinic. Therefore, the training and duties for this position will be all-inclusive in scheduling appointments and checking patients in and out.

Although the qualifications of this position requires professionalism, being detail-oriented, time-awareness for both the patient and physician’s schedules, confidentiality and accuracy of patient information, we also expect a staff that is welcoming, courteous and exudes a caring attitude for not only the patients, but their coworkers.

This is a full-time position, typically 8AM – 5PM, Monday through Friday.

Surgery Coordinator

Following the patient’s appointment with the physician, scheduling surgery may be the next step to the patient’s healing process. It is the Surgery Coordinators that will continue the first-rate hospitality care, by being sensitive to the patients as they lead the patient through each of the pre-surgery steps in a confident and professional order such as: scheduling their surgery date, calling for pre-certifications, collecting fees, scheduling their pre-op and post-op visit, plus additional steps needed for their surgery. The patient can leave the appointment knowing that the surgery coordinator will complete each pre-surgery step needed for the impending surgery.

Although medical office experience is required and surgery coordinator experience preferred, the qualifications of this position requires professionalism, multi-tasking skills, being detail-oriented and completing the surgery scheduling process in a timely manner. We also expect a staff that is welcoming, courteous and exudes a caring attitude for not only the patients, but for the coworkers.

This is a full-time position, typically 8AM – 5PM, Monday through Friday.

Medical Assistant

A Medical Assistant is an integral part of each of the physician team. The medical assistant should connect with the patient when greeting them and accompanying them to the exam room. Once roomed, they will review the patient’s medical history and check for accuracy on their completed forms. The medical assistant also assists both the physician assistant and the physician in the patients care by setting them up for their x-rays, cast removals, injection prep, as well as other duties directed by the physician.

The initial hospitality care that the patients receives from the medical assistant sets the clinical atmosphere for the rest of the patient’s visit. They represent their physician and should conduct themselves in a professional and courteous demeanor throughout the visit and conclude their visit by escorting the patient to our check-out.

This is a full-time position, typically 8AM – 5PM, Monday through Friday.

Patient Billing Advocate

Plano Orthopedics’ number one goal is to always give complete hospitality care to patients when they choose us for their orthopedic medical needs, which includes helping the patient understand their medical coverage.

The Patient Billing Advocates are ready to assist the patients by verifying their insurance prior to their appointment, answer all billing questions, as well as honoring their request for medical records. At times, there may be some adjustments or refunds that need to be made to the insurance company or to the patient, but the patient advocates will assist the patient with all facets of the financial side of their visits.

It is imperative that the Patient Billing Advocates are sensitive to the patient’s needs when answering their insurance questions, acknowledge that we are here to help the patient to convey this with a positive attitude. The goal is to hire advocates that not only have insurance billing experience, but also exude a kind and courteous demeanor with the patients as well as the coworkers.

At Plano Orthopedic, we require consistent and top-rate customer service from not only the financial representatives, but from the entire staff.

Radiology Technologist

The role of the Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) is to provide outstanding support to the physician and healthcare providers while providing exceptional care to patients and customers within the clinical scope of a Rad Tech. The Rad Tech performs a variety of patient care related tasks including preparation of patients, performance of diagnostic tests and completion of appropriate documentation. They are also responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of a fast-paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter.
