Wrist Arthroscopy
What is it?
Wrist Arthroscopy is a surgical procedure used by orthopedic surgeons to diagnose and treat problems inside a joint, in this case the wrist joint. The wrist joint is very complex with 8 small bones and many connecting ligaments and tendons. Arthroscopic surgery allows the physician to see many anatomic parts and their movement with small incisions and a tiny camera. This is a great diagnostic and treatment tool and patients generally have fewer problems and more rapid recovery than with more invasive surgery techniques. Because it’s an outpatient procedure most patients return home the same day.
