Laminectomy

Laminectomy in Plano, Frisco, McKinney and AllenWhat is it?

A Laminectomy procedure or surgery to remove the lamina, the back part of the vertebra that covers the spinal canal. It’s performed through incision on the lower back and is meant to enlarge the spinal canal to relieve pressure on the nerve roots. The pressure can be caused by a number of problems, including spinal stenosis or a herniated disc. Laminectomy is generally used only when more conservative treatments have failed or symptoms are worsening dramatically.
