Where Neck Pain Begins
What is it?
Where neck pain begins is a common problem that can result from poor posture, wear and tear, and overuse, or traumatic injury to the cervical spine. Neck pain can be acute, last for a few hours or even a few days, or it can be a chronic problem and last for several months or years. Common causes of neck pain are muscle-related. Muscle tension, cramps and sprains can all cause discomfort and pain. Pain that is not muscle-related can be caused by the intervertebral discs or arthritis, herniated discs, and even spinal stenosis. You can have feelings of pain, weakness and numbness down the arms, stiffness and reduced range of motion of the neck and shoulders and even loss of fine motor skill in your hands.
