Shoulder Arthritis
What is it?
Shoulder Arthritis involves the swelling and damage caused to the joint by overall degeneration or wear and tear to the body. There are three types of arthritis that causes pain, stiffness, and limits the shoulders range of motion or mobility. These are caused by increased age, everyday use of the joint and more specific injuries to the area.
Symptoms
Arthritis sufferers may feel as if their shoulder is stiff or there are is limited in the ability to move it. Severe arthritis may cause pain at all times even during rest.
Treatment
Treatments include being injected with cortisone, non-steriod anti-inflammatory medications, use of a splint or brace, exercise and physical therapy. In more severe cases surgery may be required.
