Debridement Achilles Tendon: the Achilles tendon is less than 50% damaged, a debridement is often performed with the goal being to remove the damaged part of the tendon. Once the unhealthy portion of the tendon has been removed, the remaining tendon is repaired with sutures, or stitches to complete the repair. After the repair most patients are allowed to walk in a removable boot or cast within 2 weeks, but this period of time depends on the amount of damage.
